  • Optical dispensers make sure that the instructions on an optical prescription written by an ophthalmologist or optometrist are fulfilled in accordance with Australian standards. This often involves helping a client to select a spectacle frame that is suitable for their prescription. The optical dispenser then takes measurements to ensure that the glasses are made up correctly in an optical laboratory.

  • You need excellent attention to detail and good communication skills. You need steady hands to take accurate measurements. It helps if you can do basic maths without using a calculator.

Salary:
