Certificate II in Population Health

The Certificate II in Population Health will give you a taste of what it might be like working to improve the health of whole populations in public health.

You’ll learn about why prevention is so important for health and how diseases can be prevented in diverse population groups. There are many electives to choose from, including nutrition and diet, and support for environmental health issues.

Some organisations might offer you employment as an environmental health worker or technician, or a public health trainee if you have completed a Certificate II qualification, but you’ll usually need to complete more training. Talk to employers in your local area, like local councils, community health services and health advocacy groups to see what opportunities for training and employment might be offered.

Visit www.skillsgateway.training.qld.gov.au and talk to your teachers, VET coordinator, guidance officer and career advisor for more information on what’s available at your school because you might be able to do this course during Year 10, 11 or 12.
