During the Certificate III in Indigenous Environmental Health, you’ll build the knowledge and skills to work in environmental health with First Nations communities as part of a team.
You’ll take a hands-on role supporting First Nations communities to maintain healthy environments and prevent common health issues. You’ll work directly with communities to identify their health needs and put solutions in place to environment health issues like water quality and rubbish management.
Some organisations might offer you employment as a First Nations environmental health worker if you have completed a Certificate III qualification, depending on your capability and the units you have completed. Talk to employers in your local area, like local councils and health services to see what jobs might be available.
Visit www.skillsgateway.training.qld.gov.au and talk to your teachers, VET coordinator, guidance officer and career advisor for more information on what’s available at your school because you might be able to do this course during Year 10, 11 or 12.
